Activision and Sledgehammer Games promise that Call of Duty: WWII's campaign will be visceral, gritty, and exhibit the tight-knit bonds of the 1st Infantry Division during World War II, but what about multiplayer?
However, Call of Duty WW2 is not a sequel to the now classic Treyarch title, Call of Duty: World at War. "Experience classic Call of Duty combat, the bonds of camaraderie, and the unforgiving nature of war against a global power throwing the world into tyranny", the description went on to say.
Call of Duty: WWII will debut on November 3. Sledgehammer alsoannounced that Call of Duty: WWII will have a zombies mode, but didn't share any details aside from a teaser image. During the reveal event, Condrey showcased a concept art panel for the game that showcased black soldier, several women, a German SS officer, and a child.
Everything you need to know about Call of Duty: WWII
According to Activision's news release, the campaign follows "Ronald "Red" Daniels, a young United States Army private, as he and his squad, the legendary USA 1st Infantry Division, trek through the harrowing European theater of war".
Call of Duty World War 2 - Is it Any Good? Players will storm the beaches of Normandy on D-Day, march across France to liberate Paris and ultimately push forward into Germany in some of the most monumental battles of all-time. Though Sledgehammer spoke mostly in general terms today, we did find out a number of interesting details - including the game's release date.
The major spotlight of the game, however, is multiplayer.
Now available to pre-order, those who secure their copy of Call of Duty: WWII ahead of time will gain first access to the private beta when it gets underway sometime this summer. On top of that, a social space similar to Destiny's Tower was also mentioned, where players will be able to interact with others in between matches. Campaign mode will see you fight in World War II, multiplayer will be more "boots-on-the-ground" than previous games, and will see you tackle a variety of modes, and co-op includes its own original story with a "dark new enemy". The standard edition will cost you $60 and the Digital Deluxe Edition, which features the Season Pass, is priced at $100.
