Get ready to run this summer

Sonic Mania

"Sonic Mania celebrates the best of Classic Sonic, pushing the envelope forward with stunning 60 FPS gameplay and pixel-perfect physics". Sonic Mania attempts to get back to the series' roots, offering true 2D Sonic gameplay.

Not too long ago Sega released a video trailer for Sonic Mania showing off Flying Battery Zone act 1, the second stage after Mushroom Hill Zone found in Sonic & Knuckles.

SEGA has revealed - via a new pre-order trailer for Sonic Mania - that its latest Sonic game will be released on August 15th. The game features new side-scrolling levels and remixed versions of classic ones, making this game a love letter to the classic fans. If you are excited to hear more about Sonic Mania, a new description via the announcement trailer explaining the release date and game lies below. Harness Sonic's new Drop Dash, Tails' flight, and Knuckles' climbing abilities to overcome evil Dr. Eggman and his henchmen.

The game was originally scheduled to launch in the spring, but Sega announced in March that it had delayed the platformer to this summer.

For many Sonic the Hedgehog fans, this is the game they have been waiting for.

While the game is available to pre-order digitally on PS4, Steam and Xbox One, it has yet to be added to the Nintendo Switch's eShop.
