We're not quite sure what Nintendo has in store next for Pokémon fans but all signs point to something big
So why would the Pokemon Company announce a new Pokemongame and say it's for the Nintendo 3DS, when they actually have plans to release it for the Nintendo Switch? There will be some new features though, such as allowing players to send Pokemon from their game into the Poke Bank, which can then be transferred to Pokemon Sun and Moon.
Today, Nintendo held a Nintendo Direct specifically for the Pokemon franchise. First, there's the fact that, even if the trailer shows a man and a boy playing a Pokemon game on the Nintendo Switch-that's not the aforementioned game.
More details about the game are expected to be announced at the gaming convention, E3 2017, where Nintendo is expected to make announcements for other upcoming titles such as Super Mario Odyssey. While Nintendo is mum on what might be announced at the event, there is plenty of speculation.
Now, go back to being the old person who still plays Pokemon Go.
For weeks, rumours have spread about a substantially upgraded version of Sun and Moon, purportedly called Pokemon Stars, being in development for the Switch.
You won't have to wait long to see the game in action, either, as Nintendo's confirmed the title will be playable at its E3 booth next week. The games will be available the same day as Pokken Tournament Deluxe - September 22. There will be new pokemon and some "new features" but specifics weren't mentioned. Catch her on Twitter.
