The Clippers' new big man might have injured his hand in the process. Gallinari got aggressive with Jito Kok and took a swing with his right hand at Kok's face.

The incident happened when the two players were lined up for a free throw.

Gallinari took a forearm to the face while being boxed out and he didn't take kindly to that. Gallinari plays for Italy, which is preparing for EuroBasket. The punch sent Gallinari to a hospital to have his hand examined.

The 28-year old forward signed a three-year $65 million deal with the Los Angeles Clippers earlier in July as part of a sign-and-trade with the Denver Nuggets.

According to USA Today, the Italian Federation said Gallinari suffered a fracture from the punch.

As Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN notes, however, Gallinari is expected to be ready for training camp in September and will not require surgery.

If you recall, Griffin famously broke his hand in the middle of the 2016 season after punching an assistant equipment manager outside of a Toronto restaurant.
