The mother whom police said triggered an Amber Alert when she took her 3-year-old daughter from a Worcester home Wednesday is accused of trying to kill the child.

Rickheit will appear in Dudley District Court Thursday morning on several charges, including attempted murder, assault and battery on a child, and reckless endangerment of a child.

A MA woman is facing attempted murder charges after apparently kidnapping her daughter and attempting to kill both the girl and herself.

When troopers found Richkheit's auto in a wooded area near a pond behind 131 Stafford St.in Charlton early Thursday morning, they saw that the tailpipe was stuffed with clothing, blocking the exhaust, State Police said.

State Police troopers eventually found Rickheit and Ella either asleep or unconscious in the running vehicle.

Ella's name was redacted from a police report of the incident.

The two were found later Wednesday in a vehicle in a wooded area of Charlton, about 15 miles (24 kilometers) away. The attorney representing Rickheit said that his client didn't think any harm would come to her daughter because she "cracked open a window".

Ella was taken to UMass Medical Center for an exam, and was doing well, according to police.

According to Fox News 38-year-old Lee-Ann Rickheit of Worcester, Massachusetts, called a relative in the same city on Wednesday and a comment that she made led the relative to call the police.

Rickheit was transported to St. Vincent's Hospital under police guard.
