London mayor: Like Islamic State, Trump fueling 'clash of civilizations'

Police thwarted seven terror attacks since Westminster incident, says Sadiq Khan

Speaking at the same conference fringe event as Mr McDonnell, former broadcaster Paul Mason warned the first six months of a Corbyn government would be "like Stalingrad", with attacks from the establishment.

"It was as if it received a shot of adrenaline", said Eric Bush, a representative from the Cayman Islands who attends party conferences to gather intelligence and help manage the British Overseas Territory's relationship with London's political class.

She said action needs to be taken to ease the pressure on struggling health services.

In response, financial and banking industry lobby group, UK Finance, said it was committed to responsible lending and did not want to push the most vulnerable into the hands of "unscrupulous and unregulated lenders".

On the topic of PFI, Mr McDonnell said: "Jeremy Corbyn has made it clear that, under his leadership, never again will this waste of taxpayer money be used to subsidise the profits of shareholders, often based in offshore tax havens". A zero tolerance approach to anti-Semitism should mean just that.

An inquiry was held previous year into allegations of anti-Semitism within the Labour Party, following the suspension of Livingstone and MP Naz Shah.

Asked about the threats made to Ms Kuenssberg, Mr Corbyn said: 'I don't wish anyone to have to be accompanied by a bodyguard anywhere in our society and certainly not in our conference.

According to his prepared remarks, Labour's secretary for the media will tell the party faithful that Jeremy Corbyn's 2017 election campaign used social media to get around a "dirty tricks" campaign from Murdoch's tabloid The Sun.

He went on: "He has an opportunity in front of him this morning with this constitutional amendment". The planned change will be unveiled at the upcoming Brighton Labour conference. "There should be no limits on the discussion".

"John is right to look at all these scenarios because if we're going to move into government we need to know what we're going to do... but also look at all the scenarios we might face", he said.

"And party members who make anti-Semitic remarks, who make some of these disgusting Holocaust denial statements, they shouldn't be in the party, they should be expelled".

If that policy sounded definite, the Brexit policy was more nuanced.

"But we can match that: we've got a government full of people teleported from the 18th century".

Mr Ashworth told LBC radio: "I don't know if Wes would consider me to be at the top of the party or not, maybe I'm middling, but I can reassure Wes that with me, I'm not burying my head in the sand". It said that it totally supports responsible lending.

The Labour Party has pledged to bring a legislation which will restrict the interest amount which could be charged on debts due to credit card use.

"We will not tolerate anti-Semitism or Holocaust denial".
