Women accused in Kim Jong Nam's death plead not guilty

Pyongyang also targeted Jong-nam’s son says WSJ

Juliana Idris was the first person he spoke to at the counter.

VX can affect the lung and heart muscles, disrupt the functions of secretion (saliva) and sweat glands, and cause the constriction of the pupils, she told the court.

The two women entered their pleas through translators and have said in the past that they thought they were participating in a TV prank.

A pathologist told the High Court here today that Kim Chol (or Kim Jong-nam), the estranged half-brother of North Korean Leader Kim Jong-un, had low levels of the enzyme, cholinesterase due to exposure to a nerve agent poison.

Siti Aisyah of Indonesia and Doan Thi Huong of Vietnam are charged in the February 13 murder of Kim Jong Nam using banned VX nerve agent at a crowded airport terminal in Kuala Lumpur.

Reuters reported the high-profile murder trial is now underway in a Malaysian court. Their lawyers blame North Korean agents.

In all probability, Kim will be the one taking over the throne not just because he is Jong-un's son but the seven-year-old is apparently also being groomed to take over the regime once he is old enough, according to Express UK.

But the judge rejected the defense's request to compel the prosecution to reveal the names of the four North Koreans on day one of the trial, which featured witnesses giving chilling accounts of the final moments in the life of Kim Jong Nam.

He immediately sought help from airport staff, but collapsed and died minutes later.

The pair pleaded not guilty to the murder charges pressed against them at a Malaysian court on Monday.

The three North Koreans who had been hiding in the embassy were later allowed to fly home in exchange for nine Malaysians allowed to leave Pyongyang in a deal easing the countries' diplomatic tensions.

If found guilty the two could face the death penalty under Section 302 of Malaysia's penal code.

Justice Azmi Ariffin told the witness to continue his testimony tomorrow.

He said he conducted the post-mortem on Jong-nam on Feb 15 after the police handed over the body from the Putrajaya Hospital on Feb 13, 2017.

Malaysia had offered visa-free travel to North Koreans, but that was scrapped weeks after Mr. Kim's killing. Last week, Malaysia imposed a North Korea travel ban, forcing the postponement of a football match that was scheduled to take place in Pyongyang this Thursday, after it was alread rescheduled twice in the wake of the assassination.

Malaysia has detained and questioned other people.

Vietnamese woman Doan Thi Huong, 29, worked the trade in southeast Asia, trolling for wealthy men.

He asked Aisyah to do several more pranks at the Kuala Lumpur airport a few days before Kim was attacked.
