South Africa's David Miller smashes fastest T20I hundred off just 35 balls

Proteas bat first in second T20

In the second T20I between South Africa and Bangladesh, David Miller smashed the world record for fastest T20I century as he brought up his maiden T20I hundred off just 35 balls.

His effort shaved a full 10 balls off the previous world record, 45 balls by Richard Levi for South Africa against New Zealand in Hamilton in 2012.

Bangladesh was 141 all out in 18.3 overs, another heavy defeat on a hard five-week tour for the visiting team.

In the final game of the tour, Miller hit five sixes in a row in the 19th over, and nine sixes and seven fours in all in his record-breaking innings.

South Africa whitewashed the Test, ODI and T20I series against Bangladesh.

The South African team did not just win every series in all formats against Bangladesh but they also did it in style. KL Rahul was just one ball behind as the batsman reached the historic ton in just 46 balls.

To make matters worse for Bangladesh, Miller was dropped second ball as a diving Mushfiqur Rahim just failed to hold from a gloved Rubel Hossain bouncer down the leg side.

South Africa captain Faf du Plessis, who did not play in the T20Is against Bangladesh, said he was proud of Miller's achievement.

Richard Levi took the T20 world and worldwide cricket by storm as the SA batsman created history by scoring the fastest century in T20 internationals in just 45 balls where he smashed 13 sixes and remained unbeaten (Although now caught by Miller) 0n 117 in 2012.

Bangladesh won the toss and put South Africa in to bat, with Hashim Amla (85) leading the way as a series of batting partners - Mangaliso Mosehle (5), JP Duminy (4) and AB de Villiers (20) - struggled to do any considerable damage.
