Numerous reports Sunday morning say Jones was sacked; Fox Sports' Bruce Feldman was the first to report it. GN's Jimmy Hyams says Jones was offered the opportunity to coach the final two games but declined.

A current Tennessee commit reportedly told the Orlando Sentinel on Sunday that Jones called him, suggesting he "find a place to go" now that he was no longer going to be the head coach.
Tennessee made the decision following a 50-17 loss to the Missouri Tigers.
"We have been fortunate to have coach Jones lead our program for the past five years", Currie said. That placed Tennessee 0-6 in the conference and 4-6 overall.
'For that reason, I have asked Coach Jones to step down'.
The Vols will need an interim head coach and Brady Hoke is the next man up.
Before the 2017 season, Jones had led Tennessee to two nine-win seasons during the 2015 and 2016 season, respectively.
