A statement posted on his official Instagram account also says: "'We would like to clarify that he has already defended himself against the accusations, affirming that he did not participate in the episode", said a statement posted on Robinho's Instagram feed.
The 33-year-old, who is now back playing football in Brazil, denied assaulting a 22-year-old woman at a Milan disco.
A court in Milan has sentenced Brazil worldwide Robinho to nine years in prison for a group sexual assault, according to Italian state news agency ANSA.
An Italian court ruled the 33-year-old and five other Brazilians assaulted the Albanian woman, who was 22, after plying her with alcohol in a nightclub.
Robinho was playing for the Rossoneri at the time.
"Every legal measure is being taken about this first ruling".
Under the Italian law, the forward will not be sent to prison until the appeals process is finalised, which could take years. Brazil does not extradite its own citizens when they are sentenced in other countries.
Robinho began his career with Santos before leaving Brazil in 2005 for a three-year spell with Madrid.
He played more than 40 games for Manchester City between 2008 and 2010 after signing from Real Madrid for £32.5m.
At the end of the season, he moved to AC Milan where he was joined by Zlatan Ibrahimovic and later Antonio Cassano en route to winning Serie A.
