CBS Essentially Cancels Wisdom of the Crowd

Jeremy Piven's “Wisdom of the Crowd” to finish after 13 episodes amid sexual misconduct allegations

TV Line reports that the 13 episodes already in the can will air, but the move by CBS is effectively a cancellation.

After only 13 episodes, Wisdom of the Crowd's debut season has been cut short.

"Wisdom of the Crowd" saw Jeremy star as a man who develops an online crowd-sourcing app to create a crack team to help him find out who murdered his daughter.

The decision comes as Piven faces multiple allegations of sexual harassment, reports Variety. The series averaged 8.8 million viewers had fallen in viewership to just 7.4 million total viewers in the most recent episode with a 1.0 rating among viewers in the target 18-49 demographic. A third accuser, advertising executive Tiffany Bacon Scourby, came forward on November 9, detailing a forced encounter with Piven in 2003.

Shortly after Bellamar accused Piven, a representative for CBS said the network was aware of the accusation and was "looking into the matter".

On the same day, Piven posted a long statement on Twitter that said "the accusations against me are absolutely false and completely fabricated".

One of the women, Anastasia Taneie, told the outlet Piven forcefully groped her breasts and genitals in 2009 when she was working as an extra on the HBO series "Entourage". "It takes a great deal of courage for victims to come forward with their histories, and my hope is that the allegations about me that didn't happen, do not detract from stories that should be heard". Freshman sitcom "Me, Myself and I" was canceled earlier this season.
