John Mayer Hospitalized, Undergoes Emergency Appendectomy

The band announced the news to their fans over Twitter, mentioning that the lead singer and guitarists health will likely result in some scheduling changes. Dead & Company, made up of Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, Bob Weir, Mayer, Oteil Burbridge and Jeff Chimenti, announced their first tour less than two months after the Grateful Dead played their final show.

TMZ reports that John Mayer was admitted to a hospital in New Orleans, La. early in the morning on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017.

The group said tickets for Tuesday's show will be honored when the performance is rescheduled, although a date for the show was not immediately set. Should ticketholders choose to seek a refund, they will be available at the point of purchase.

Platinum-selling rock/pop star John Mayer was rushed to a hospital early December 5.

Dead & Company has been around since 2015.

Dead & Company are due to perform at Amway Center in Orlando on Thursday (07.12.17), and again in Fort Lauderdale on Friday (08.12.17).

The band is scheduled to play the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida on December 7.
