Everton vs West Brom predictions: Premier League preview, line-ups & football betting tips

Now sat 19th in the table, West Brom are two points adrift of Premier League safety, however, another resilient performance on Saturday afternoon could see them jump up to 17th.

"Having got the nod last week this was going to be my 1 000th game I'm absolutely delighted to have hit that milestone, mainly all in the Premier League".

The Albion defensive duo collided during the 2-0 win over Brighton last week and the club have been taking a cautious approach to their recovery ahead of the meeting on Merseyside this weekend. Following victory over Exeter City in the FA Cup, Alan Pardew's side kept their momentum with their first Premier League win since mid-August.

It's been an injury-plagued season for McCarthy, who was playing only his fourth Premier League game of 2017-18 due to successive knee and hamstring injuries. Despite winning their first game in four months, the Baggies are still in the relegation zone.

Everton and West Brom played on Boxing Day at The Hawthorns, with both teams failing to score and settling for a scoreless draw. An early goal from the head of captain Jonny Evans settled West Brom into the game and they were further rewarded for their more adventurous play in the second half when Craig Dawson doubled the Baggies lead.

Theo Walcott's arrival at Goodison Park appears to have left the writing on the wall for the 30-year-old as Sam Allardyce looks to trim his current squad.

"There was a period last season when the starts weren't coming any more", said Walcott, who scored 19 goals last term.

Ramiro Funes Mori, Leighton Baines and Seamus Coleman are all long-term absentees.

Nacer Chadli is still out for the Baggies but James Morrison could make a return after a lengthy stint on the sidelines. This is a great chance for the side to win a game since Everton away is winnable.

"I think we did everything to try to bring this possibility here but we have to accept that".
