Theis On Committee Investigating Nassar Scandal At MSU

On Friday, chaos erupted in an Eaton County, Michigan, courtroom when the father of three daughters who were abused by Larry Nassar tried to attack the former doctor.

Randall Margraves, a father of three girls who were allegedly sexually assaulted by Dr. Larry Nassar, faced the gymnastics doctor in a MI courtroom on February 2.

In response, Margraves asked for part of Nassar's sentencing be five minutes in a room "with this demon".

"I understand Mr Margraves' frustration but you cannot do this", she said. He was quickly tackled by police, and Nassar was removed from the courtroom as those watching the proceedings looked on in shock. "Like I want to crawl out of my body and live in someone else's". In December, a federal judge sentenced Nassar to 60 years in prison on child pornography charges.

While Margraves was walked out of the room, Assistant Attorney General Angela Povilaitis asked parents not to behave like Margraves, saying it gave Nassar power.

More than 150 women, including Margraves third daughter, Morgan, addressed Nassar and detailed the years of abuse he put them through - often under the guise of medical treatment. Judge Janice Cunningham said it would be wrong to punish the man, based on the level of Nassar's crimes and the anguish felt by the families, the Associated Press reported.

Judge Cunningham pointed out that Margraves heard new information during the hearing.

Seconds later, three bailiffs had Margraves on the ground. They are among hundreds of women who were molested by Nassar when they were involved with the USA gymnastics program.

"Well I'm going to have to", Margraves responded, and he launched into a sprint at Nassar. "I find that you don't get it, that you're a danger, that you remain a danger". Prosecutors are requesting a prison sentence of 40-125 years.

Several of his victims, most of whom are women now, queued up to confront their tormentor at Eaton County Court on 2 February.
