Eagles fans flock to petition for Collinsworth ban

Cris Collinsworth's 'biased' Super Bowl broadcast performance slammed by NFL fans with ridiculous memes, jokes

Monday to bask in their Sunday Super Bowl victory over the New England Patriots.

On two close calls - both ruled touchdowns by the Eagles - Collinsworth seemed confident both were incomplete. And Philadelphians, even after getting the Lombardi trophy they've craved for decades, are still peeved about it.

"Being a Philadelphia Eagles fan and having to listen to him constantly talk about the Patriots and hardly ever the Eagles during the game made it nearly unbearable", the petition reads. This is the Super Bowl, and these plays are under the microscope in a way others aren't.

A former National Football League vice president of officiating, however, agreed with the call.

It then calls for NBC to "discipline" Collinsworth, or "at the very least" confine him to Patriot broadcasts.

Long posted a pair of tweets in which he expressed amusement with Collinsworth's work. That was the case in the third quarter of Super Bowl 52 on Sunday, when Philadelphia Eagles running back Corey Clement caught a touchdown pass that probably shouldn't have counted. But it looked like the ball came loose while he was falling out of the back of the end zone, leading to a multi-minute review.

Eagles tight end Zach Ertz scored the winning touchdown late in the fourth quarter, but Collinsworth disagreed with the ruling on the field. He had to have been the only (supposedly) neutral fan who thought Ertz's TD catch might be overturned.

Some Eagles fans have started a petition for Cris Collinsworth to never commentate on another Philly game.
