Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's motorcade was involved in an accident near Los Angeles, leaving three people injured.

"The discussion ought to be, 'How can you construct trade agreements that benefit not just industries, but also workers in our respective countries.' That's what these kids are concerned about".

Trudeau, 46, was leaving the Reagan Presidential Library where he had given a speech when a vehicle turned left in front of his motorcade on Friday, ABC News reported.

John Heubusch, executive director of the Reagan library and institute, said Reagan would have likely agreed with Trump on the idea of putting American interests at the forefront of negotiations, but would diverge on the idea that the USA economy could make a go of it absent trade.

But he says income inequality is growing worldwide.

The location is a symbolic choice, referring to the longstanding trade relationship between the USA and Canada.

"There are a lot of young people for whom globalism is not an unalloyed good", said Axelrod, who will be onstage interviewing Trudeau during the afternoon event.

"I know our journalistic friends sometimes cast our administrations as unlikely to see eye-to-eye on anything", Trudeau said.

President Donald Trump called the 24-year-old agreement a job-killing "disaster" on the campaign trail, and he has threatened to pull out unless the deal requires more auto production in the USA, while shifting additional government contracts to US companies.

California Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom smile while meeting with Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in San Francisco, Friday, Feb. 9, 2018.

As a candidate, Trump has called NAFTA a job-killing disaster.

The prime minister's vehicle was not involved in the collision.

"President Reagan famously declared, 'It's morning in America, '" Trudeau said. That is up to us.

"The statements that have been coming out of the Philippines on the potential or possible uses of those helicopters have given us cause to need to follow up on that, and that's exactly what we're doing". "Let us keep applying ourselves with unswerving dedication, with fierce ambition, relentless optimism and unfailing courage".

Trudeau received two standing ovations, once when he was introduced by Frederick Ryan Jr., board chair of the Reagan Presidential Foundation, and once he finished.
