Meghan Markle & Prince Harry in 'anthrax' terrorism scare

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry face anthrax scare as white powder sent to Kensington Palace

Scotland Yard has launched an investigation after a letter addressed to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry was received which contained a white substance.

The package was intercepted before it reached the couple and an analysis of the powder found that it was harmless. They added than an an allegation of malicious communications is being investigated.

Security will be tight, especially since the happy couple will take to the streets following their nuptials - taking a carriage ride around Windsor, following the ceremony in St George's Chapel at Windsor castle.

Prince Harry first confirmed his relationship with the American actress, who is mixed race, in November 2016 by issuing a strongly-worded statement about media harassment and racism against her on social media.

The power was found to be harmless.

The suspicious package, which was delivered earlier this month to the royal residence at Kensington Palace in London, reportedly prompted an anthrax scare.

The Standard said police are investigating if the incidents are linked. Markle, a successful actor who recently bowed out of her most prominent role in U.S. legal drama "Suits", is from a mixed-race background.

A letter containing non-harmful white powder was also reportedly sent to Home Secretary Amber Rudd the following day.

There have been no arrests yet but inquiries continue, according to police.

However, neither Kensington Palace, where Harry and Meghan live, nor the Metropolitan Police has confirmed if this was the case.
