Will a High Volume Strategy Win the Smart Speaker Market

Google Assistant will be multilingual later in 2018 as well, the post said.

Over the past year, Google Assistant was integrated into homes through the magic of Google Home, and to your cars with Android Auto at CES 2017.

Google has today announced a couple of new features and improvements for its Assistant during MWC 2018. Additionally, Google will be adding multilingual support so that Assistant will be able to understand multiple languages fluently starting with English, French, and German. Lastly, the company has announced that the Assistant will be compatible with thirty more languages including Danish, Dutch, Hindi, Indonesian, Norwegian, Swedish, and more.

Google Assistant will be available in over 30 languages by the end of the year, which is a considerable step up from the current 8 languages.

Google has already pushed forward Google Assistant in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, and Portuguese.

The device allows you to do anything on your own personal assistant-manage your smart appliances, voice control, play music, or watch videos. It's called "routines". The feature will allow users to configure multiple actions into a single command. By integrating with specific handsets, a user might be able to say "Hey Google, launch Panorama Mode on the camera", to launch a phone-specific feature.

So when you walk into your home and say, "Hey, Google, I'm home", the digital assistant cannot only turn on the lights, but also start playing music, share some important reminders, and more.

Prior to the emergence of Google Assistant Routines, the My Day feature for a calendar rundown, traffic report, and latest news was the only multi-action feature available for Google Assistant.

Google said Sprint Corp., LG Electronics Inc. and Sony Mobile Communications Inc. are among the companies now in the process of developing custom Assistant integrations.

The company will also implement deeper integration between Google Assistant and both smartphones and carriers throughout this year. In the coming weeks in the US, you'll be able to use six routines that help with your morning, commutes to and from work, and evening at home. This gives carriers a new way to support their customers while reducing response time. Do you all use Google Assistant? Carriers that are already developing these capabilities include Sprint, Koodo, Telus, and Vodafone.

For example, you could tell your Google Home device to remind you to buy milk when you're at the grocery store.
