MWC 2018: Nokia 8110 returns, along with a range of new Nokia smartphones

Nokia Brings Back The 8110 - The Matrix Phone

HMD Global, the Finnish company with the license to make devices with the name of Nokia has launched five new phones at MWC, now being held at Barcelona.

In fact, it's the least expensive of all of Nokia's "proper" smartphones announced at the event yesterday.

Nokia has relaunched its 8810 phone from the 1990s, complete with its original curved, bright yellow cover often likened to a banana.

Nokia 7 Plus features a 6-inch full HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. The phone covered with 95% Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and a stainless steel frame.

This phone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC coupled with 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM. The internal storage of the phone is 4GG.

It comes with 4GB of inbuilt storage, which doesn't appear to be expandable via microSD card. The Nokia 1, from HMD Global, isn't a phone designed for power users. The Nokia 7 Plus is inferior to the Nokia 8 Sirocco in terms of specs, but not by much, as both of those smartphones ship with the same camera setup, and they're quite powerful.

HMD Global is also continuing efforts to break into the wildly competitive smartphone market with four new Android-based handsets. It would be even more smoother compare to the basic Android editions. Going by leaks and sources, Nokia is also working on a new smartphone with "penta lense" technology where the lense will adjust to the surroundings and carry some motion. There's also the Pro Mode with manual control over multiple camera parameters high-end Nokia smartphones have become known for. You can take flawless selfies and can make HD video calls through the front facing or we can say, Secondary Camera of the phone.

The refresh brings back the old slider design, along with a modern touch of app support, Wi-Fi and 4G LTE. The glass back allows for built-in Qi wireless charging. It used to stand for something back then - beauty and power - and the Sirocco Nokia 8 doesn't disappoint. The Nokia 8 Sirocco is also IP67 water and dust resistant.

The Verge reports that all three Android One handsets will hit the European Union in April.

Declared to be the most attractive smartphone to date by its makers, the Nokia 8 Sirocco sees both an upgrade in terms of aesthetics and mobile software. It's set for an April release date, with an average retail price of about $920.
