2018 NFL free agency: Bills have 'some interest' in QB Sam Bradford

Adds background. The Arizona Cardinals finally found their quarterback.

PHOENIX (AP) - The Arizona Cardinals finally found their quarterback.

Responding to news of Bradford being slated to make $20 million this year in Arizona, Weddle wrote on Twitter that the contract was stupid.

Steve Wilks, former Carolina Panthers defensive coordinator has not taken the reigns at head coach in the desert, and quarterback Sam Bradford (per Adam Schefter) has agreed to a contract with the Cardinals.

The 30-year-old Bradford has dealt with several knee injuries throughout his career.

Nonetheless, Bradford brought stability to the quarterback position.

Bradford played in just two games for the Minnesota Vikings past year as he battled a knee injury, and he spent some time on injured reserve.

With primary target Kirk Cousins off the market as he closes on a move to the Minnesota Vikings, the Cardinals moved swiftly to Plan B and are set to secure Bradford's signature when the new league year begins on Wednesday. And now Bradford gets another $20 million this year with the Cardinals.

Bradford, who played college football at Oklahoma, was the first-overall draft pick by the Rams in 2010.

Instead, Minnesota turned to Keenum, who threw for 3,500 yards, 22 touchdowns and seven interceptions while leading the Vikings to the NFC Championship Game. It might not be quite as dire as the one Bradford surprisingly thrived working behind in Minnesota two seasons ago, but it's not that far off.

He was never the same, though, after suffering a mysterious knee injury. He was the starter in 2014 and 2015 before suffering a torn ACL in the final preseason practice of 2016, and has played in just one game since.

The last time Bradford was healthy for almost an entire season, he was one of the most efficient quarterbacks in the NFL.
