GETTY Paul Merson believes Jose Mourinho’s Man Utd will beat Brighton

"Maybe another player says "I'm not going to take a risk", but he's a warrior". "But English players have learned very quickly and might be the masters now".

Meanwhile, Pochettino has refused to rule Kane - who is now suffering from an ankle injury - out of his sides upcoming London derby against Chelsea on April 1.

Speaking ahead of Tottenham's clash with Swansea in the sixth round of the FA Cup on Saturday, Pochettino revealed Kane was fearless to even attempt the challenge.

"I am not an egocentric person, who likes to win titles to put on my shoulder".

Alli, who scored 22 goals in all competitions for Tottenham last season, has 10 this time, including two in the 3-1 Champions League win over Real Madrid last November. Dele, no? The question [about whether he should do more] - I'm a little bit: 'Wow.' We expect more from him?

"Of course it's tough for him because he still doesn't feel in the way he needs to feel", said Pochettino. "But in terms of the project I think we are doing fantastic".

When Kane was injured twice with the same problem last season, he missed seven weeks from September, then just over three weeks from March.

The striker is expected to be back in training at some point next month, although the derby with Chelsea on April 1 is likely to be too soon.

Pochettino continued: "We're talking about one of the best strikers in the world".

"But we are calm and relaxed because we have enough quality to play and win games".

"We have different players that can play in that position - Dele Alli, [Erik] Lamela, [Heung-Min] Son, [Fernando] Llorente, Lucas Moura".

The Spurs boss added: "The reality is with his crutch and boot, we need to assess him day by day and look at the reaction".
