Huawei CEO Richard Yu has said that the company's goal is to leap frog over Apple and Samsung to become the largest smartphone manufacturer in the world. One way or another, he will turn the United States into a viable market.

And if the company does manage to reverse those trends, it will still be a hard sell for USA consumers after several warnings from the country's defense departments.

Yu's statement is an obvious response to the warnings that US intelligence agencies issued against Chinese electronic products in the recent months. "We would never compromise that trust", he stated.

Huawei has been working for so long to get into the US market, but this latest road block is the biggest yet.

In January, for instance, Huawei was all ready to announce a deal with AT&T that would see the Mate 10 Pro officially offered through the carrier.

Huawei set up a Cloud Business Unit in 2017, which launched 99 cloud services across 14 major categories, and over 50 solutions. These explain why the Huawei P20 Pro won't be sold in the U.S. Most of Yu's followup reinforced his earlier assertions that, in spite of multiple warning from various U.S. security departments, this whole thing is blow entirely out of proportion.

As for the concerns about spying posed by Huawei products, Yu said, "The security risk concerns are based on groundless suspicions and are quite frankly unfair. We welcome an open and transparent discussion if it is based on facts", he wrote. Huawei's smartphone division-Honor included-recorded an impressive US$36.4 billion in revenue, a 31.9% year-on-year growth.

Huawei is now the third-largest phone maker in the world. In the USA, the fight against Apple, Samsung, and even the likes of HTC, LG, and Motorola might prove pretty tough. This is in spite of not being able to do business and sell its products in the USA market. Way back in 2010, for instance, Huawei said that wasn't giving up on the untapped market. "Even without the United States market, we'll be No. 1 in the world", he was quoted as saying after the unveiling of the new P20 series by Channel News Asia. "We recognize we are not a known brand in the USA, and we need to build our brand here", Yu said.
