Bring on Brook, says Khan after 39-sec KO

Amir Khan returns to boxing with incredible 39-second KO

Kell Brook confronts Amir Khan

The former unified light-welterweight world champion exploded back into action on British soil after defeating the Canadian Greco in just 40-seconds following a return to the ring after nearly two years.

The 31-year-old, a former light-welterweight world champion, wasted little time in sending his opponent tumbling with a quick one-two combination inside the opening 30 seconds.

When asked if he is targeting a fight against Brook, Khan said: "I want to become a world champion again so I want to fight the top guys in the welterweight division". Khan, who afterward challenged English rival Kell Brook to face him.

As for a bout with Brook, Khan, most famous recently for his "jungle" appearance in the British television show "I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here", said: "That fight is something I am not rushing and not running away from".

"People just wanted to see me come back and I wanted to prove a point and come back".

Promoter for both fighters Eddie Hearn stated after that the British public seem desperate for the fight to happen, and is hoping to give them what they want this year, potentially in a sold out Principality Stadium in Cardiff.

During his post-match interview, Khan made it clear that he was back and looking to fight against the best of the best and reclaim a championship.

Another bout to sharpen the ring rust will be needed as Khan spent less than a minute inside the ropes on Saturday night before a potential stadium blockbuster with Kell Brook in October or November.

Brook looked impressive in his return fight earlier this year too, mind you.

"I'd like to fight [Adrien] Broner". Kell Brook has been living off my name for a long time. I saw I hurt him with the left hook and it was over.

"I'm not a fighter to run away". "I came and signed with Matchroom, I'm the one chasing Kell", added Khan.
