The outcome of the probe compiled by the Republican-majority contingent which were published in a redacted report on Friday - also said there was no proof Trump's business dealings formed a basis for collusion with Moscow during his successful bid for the presidency.
But just in the past week, strong new evidence that there was, in fact, coordination between the Trump campaign and Russian Federation during the 2016 campaign has emerged, from both the Republican and Democratic House Intelligence Committee reports - both of which may be accessed online at this link - as well as from independent media reporting.
Trump has often called the Russia investigation a "witch hunt" and has repeatedly denied allegations that his campaign colluded with Russians during the election.
While the committee posted a copy of the report online, investigation leader Rep. Mike Conaway, R-Texas, complained about the heavy redactions made by the intelligence community.

The GOP-authored report marks the close of its investigation, which began with bipartisan promise but ultimately succumbed to factional squabbling.
Former FBI Director James Comey chose the March 20, 2017, hearing of the House intelligence committee to publicly reveal that the FBI had been investigating the Trump campaign since July 2016. Nunes was eventually cleared of wrongdoing, but never formally rejoined the House investigation.
In the Committee's report, published on Friday, April 27, questioned the very fact of Moscow's interference in USA elections, as well as in the Affairs of other States and worldwide organizations for the past ten years.
Despite this, Russia's intervention in the elections called obvious.
Additionally, the committee recommended the executive branch "crack down" on leaks by conducting polygraphs of certain employees with top secret clearances.
