Trump Says Special Counsel Should Never Been Appointed to Probe Russia Collusion

The Republican-run House Intelligence Committee released a redacted version of its final report on Russian'Active Measures that exonerates the Trump campaign from having any'collusion with Russia

The report's conclusion is fiercely opposed by committee Democrats.

"Time after time, when there were very important investigative leads the Republicans said, "We don't want to know", Schiff says.

The outcome of the probe compiled by the Republican-majority contingent which were published in a redacted report on Friday - also said there was no proof Trump's business dealings formed a basis for collusion with Moscow during his successful bid for the presidency.

But just in the past week, strong new evidence that there was, in fact, coordination between the Trump campaign and Russian Federation during the 2016 campaign has emerged, from both the Republican and Democratic House Intelligence Committee reports - both of which may be accessed online at this link - as well as from independent media reporting.

Trump has often called the Russia investigation a "witch hunt" and has repeatedly denied allegations that his campaign colluded with Russians during the election.

While the committee posted a copy of the report online, investigation leader Rep. Mike Conaway, R-Texas, complained about the heavy redactions made by the intelligence community.

"'No evidence" that the Trump Campaign "colluded, coordinated or conspired with Russia, '" Trump tweeted. Fusion GPS in turn hired Christopher Steele, the former British spy who produced a salacious dossier that suggested the Russians may have the goods on Trump, a scurrilous charge Trump aides and supporters say is part of a fake campaign to diminish the President. It's a witch hunt, that's all it is. Besides doing so in the United States, Russia has also been trying to influence elections electronically by hacking into computers in Germany and France to influence policies in their countries.

The jab towards Special Counsel Robert Mueller raises question over whether Trump is considering firing the former Federal Bureau of Investigation director, who was appointed to investigate the president's ties to Russian Federation.

The GOP-authored report marks the close of its investigation, which began with bipartisan promise but ultimately succumbed to factional squabbling.

Former FBI Director James Comey chose the March 20, 2017, hearing of the House intelligence committee to publicly reveal that the FBI had been investigating the Trump campaign since July 2016. Nunes was eventually cleared of wrongdoing, but never formally rejoined the House investigation.

In the Committee's report, published on Friday, April 27, questioned the very fact of Moscow's interference in USA elections, as well as in the Affairs of other States and worldwide organizations for the past ten years.

Despite this, Russia's intervention in the elections called obvious.

Additionally, the committee recommended the executive branch "crack down" on leaks by conducting polygraphs of certain employees with top secret clearances.
