American Gods season 2 teaser announces start of filming with new showrunner

American Gods: Season Two Production Begins for Starz Series (BTS Video)

American Gods has started work on its second season and according to Neil Gaiman, they are ready to rock - literally. Oh, just hanging out with gods and mortals at the House on the Rock.

Earlier today, the show released a new video which revealed that the show is indeed back in production. Fuller and Green reportedly requested a hefty budget increase (to be tacked onto the reported $10 million per episode allotment already in place) and clashed with production company FreemantleMedia over it. Network Starz later announced that Jesse Alexander (Alias, Lost) would serve as the new showrunner on American Gods season 2. In the teaser below, Gaiman shows off The House on the Rock-an essential location from Gaiman's source material that will be included in the second season.

At long last, American Gods Season 2 filming is underway. Season two will see the return of Pablo Schreiber (13 Hours, Orange Is the New Black) as Mad Sweeney, Yetide Badaki (Aquarius, Masters of Sex) as Bilquis, Bruce Langley as Tech Boy and Kristin Chenoweth, as Easter and the addition of some new characters as well. World, Cloris Leachman ("Malcom in The Middle", "Raising Hope") as Zorya Vechernyaya, Peter Stormare ("Fargo", "Prison Break") as Czernobog, Mousa Kraish ("Superbad", "Fast & Furious") as The Jinn, Omid Abtahi ("Argo") as Salim, Chris Obi ("Snow White and the Huntsman", "The Counselor") as Anubis, and Demore Barnes ("Waco", "12 Monkeys") as Mr. Ibis.

American Gods is exclusively available on Prime Video in Canada.

It's been almost one year already since season one of American Gods came to a close. FMNA's Stefanie Berk is executive producing the series along with Neil Gaiman, Ian McShane, Craig Cegielski and Scott Hornbacher.
