Andrew 'Beef' Johnston has qualified for the 2018 US Open

Scott kept alive his 17-year streak playing in all the majors with a two-putt from 30 feet for par on his final hole at The Lakes Golf and Country Club.

After slipping to 64th in the world, Scott was not ranked high enough to be given an automatic berth in the year's second major but earned his place at Shinnecock Hills by grabbing one of 14 spots up for grabs in Columbus.

Penn State men's golf alumnus Cole Miller will compete in the 118th U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club after claiming third place with a 5-under 139 at the section qualifier at the Woodmont Country Club.

He came through, two-putting for par on the final hole to post rounds of 66-72 and earn the last of 14 spots available at the Columbus qualifier.

"I am pumped. It has been an epic day".

The US Open will be Fox's fourth major appearance, having previously played at the British Open and US PGA Championship. "For me to play well in the sectional leading into my first professional event on the MacKenzie Tour, it's just icing on the cake". Today was a bit of a grind but somehow I've snuck through. "I played really nice this morning but it was tougher this afternoon". The US Open will be his 68th consecutive start and leaves him behind only Spaniard Sergio Garcia who will be making his 76th start. Former Oregon golfer Aaron Wise, who recently won the AT&T Byron Nelson for his first PGA Tour title, also qualified.

Herbert, who has already secured a start in The Open at Carnoustie in July, powered away at the Portland Golf club and finished three shots clear of the field to win his way to Shinnecock.

He's qualified for next week's US Open, a day after finishing in a share of eighth place at the European Tour's Italian Open.

Players have a last chance to qualify for the U.S. Open if they finish in the top 60 on the world rankings after the FedEx St. Jude Classic this week. The medalist was Sam Burns, the victor of the inaugural Savannah Golf Championship on the Web.com Tour earlier this year. Rank, an National Hockey League referee, shared medalist honors with Michael Hebert to get one of three spots in the qualifier in Roswell, Georgia.
