Despite the fact that Meghan Markle is now a member of the British Royal family and that comes with a lot of rules and restrictions, especially in public, the former actress is not too anxious about following royal protocol a hundred percent.

The Duchess of Sussex wore a dress by Carolina Herrera and a hat by Philip Treacy, while Kate wore a dress by Alexander McQueen and a hat by Juliette Botterill.

Trooping the Colour, staged every June by London's Horse Guards Parade, has commemorated the birthday of the sovereign for more than 250 years.

About 1,000 soldiers marched to House Guards Parade in Whitehall, central London, as part of the ceremony, which marked Queen Elizabeth's 92nd birthday. He will celebrate his 97th birthday Sunday.

The ceremony culminates with a magnificent balcony appearance by the Royal Family.

Senior royals including the Queen, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall also took part in the event.

It was Meghan's first time in such a grand royal event, filled with age-old pomp and circumstance.

More than 1,000 soldiers and 250 horses traveled down the Mall from Buckingham Palace to Horseguards Parade with members of the Royal Family in carriages. The 29-year-old teamed her frock with a crisp black blazer with cape sleeves, a coordinating green quilted bag with a gold chain and patent black court shoes with a bold strap. Meghan's already looking fully at ease. laughing and smiling with her father-in-law and Kate.

Make sure to check out photos of Kate Middleton making her debut in the parade back in 2011! From the beginnings of her relationship with Prince Harry, the former actress wore what made her feel comfortable, ignoring those tedious royal fashion rules.

So far, it seems Meghan has impressed Queen Elizabeth.

Here is this year's Trooping the colour, just in case you missed it. Then comes the Order of the Garter ceremony at St. George's Chapel, where Meghan and Harry were married, as well as days of racing at Royal Ascot, as well as Wimbledon and the Queen's annual Scottish tour.

Meghan is fitting right in.
