ONE person is dead and several others are injured after a boating accident in Exuma.

ABC News reported that one of the 10 Americans, who has not been identified, who was on the boat was killed. She is now in a medically induced coma and is not yet aware her life will never be the same.

Video footage taken at the scene from a neighboring boat shows the watercraft completely ablaze, as thick black smoke consumes the surrounding air.

According to ABC, there were also two Bahama natives on the boat, but no information was given about whether or not they were injured. "One of them said she couldn't feel her legs so my son jumped into the water to help her", he told the Bahamas Tribune. She is now in a medically-induced coma in a Nassau, Bahamas hospital. "The kind words and prayers are very much needed and appreciated", the most recent update reads on the page.

A GoFundMe page created to help the family said Stefanie and her sister, Brooke Schaffer, were traveling on vacation with Stacey and their stepfather, Paul Bender. Stefanie also requires surgery on her spine for an L1 lumbar disk fracture. The cause of the explosion has not been determined at this time.

"This is a sad day for Exuma and a sad day for our American friends", said Chester Cooper, Exumas and Ragged Island MP, in a statement posted to Facebook. We are saddened and our hearts our hurting, but we will get through this together.

The tour boat explosion is still under investigation, according to reports.
